DiMeN builds on previous successful training partnerships to create a distinctive environment, linking internationally recognised centres of research excellence to provide superb doctoral training opportunities addressing MRC skill priority areas.
The partnership is united by the overarching vision of ‘Discovery Medicine across the Lifecourse’. DiMeN DTP 1 (cohorts 1 -6) focuses on three complementary themes, Genetic Influences on Health, Ageing and Disease, and, Bioinformatics and Personalised Medicine. Our projects deliver training in stratified medicine, focussing on the best treatment for every patient.
DiMeN DTP 2 (October 2022 onwards), will keep our overarching vision of Discovery Medicine across the Lifecourse, to advance discovery medicine and enable significant impacts on clinical practice, while building capacity in interdisciplinary research in three disease-driven themes:
Infection and Global Health
Multimorbidity, Frailty and Diseases of Ageing
A cross-cutting theme of Medical Technologies, Informatics and Quantitative approaches aims to boost quantitative skills training and technology development across our partnership.
