DiMeN PhD students Jack and Josh, DiMeN Director Prof Steve Renshaw and DTP Manager Dr Emily Goodall all took part in the University of Sheffield's Big Walk Challenge as part of a #ResearchWell team.
They were joined by over 200 colleagues and students from the University of Sheffield to take on a a 26.2-mile marathon-distance Peak District walk to raise money for the Sheffield Scanner Appeal.
The #ResearchWell team had the additional aim of raising awareness of the importance of looking after your mental health and wellbeing as an early career researcher. Taking a break, exploring the glorious British countryside and teamwork is a great way to do this.
The event raised over £64,000 towards the scanner and the Team achieved over 130 miles in training combined with the event itself. Great effort!
